After the process of domain name registration, does your computer act as a server to host the website?

Answer: |
| It depends. After you finish registering your domain, you can either buy a web hosting plan still from them or to another web hosting provider. But, it’s advisable not to put all your eggs in one basket to avoid future problems. Yes, you can host your own website in your own pc but this typw of connection is less secure. It’s still comfortable to sign up for a web hosting service and manage your website from there without worrying for the maintenance and security of your own server.
It is not your fault that you are confused. We have heard this question asked many times. Based on your question, it is recommended that you try Godaddy. Who Else Wants a Free Domain Name?

it can do, it depends on wether the domain name host offers you webspace or not. (check your account) if it does, you use the webspace on the host server, (read host’s faq)
otherwise you have to set something up on your router to link your dynamic ip to your domain name host, (google it)
set up iis on your pc (google it or microsoft help)
build your website and publish it to your iis folder. (microsoft help should help)
not very secure though.
help at all?
